I am about to buy a property south of Girona and my experience elsewhere in Spain, in terms of meeting new friends, is to join a society of golfers who play at either a specific course or various courses.
My Spanish is not great and my Catalan is non-existant at this moment, so English speakers would be very helpful. I’m happy to pay the green fees each time I play, as I will not be resident, but hope to visit my property as often as I can.
I’m also happy to drive a 40km radius, which although putting Barcelona out of reach, should permit many of the other great courses in the Girona area to be accessible.
Let me know if there any such groups out there, and if so. I look forward to meeting up for golf and banter.
