getting a NIE numer from abroad , online ?

      Hi there,
      Can anyone advise me on how best to go about getting a NIE number, Im currently living in Holland and have heard that I can get on online , it this possible ?

      I will move to southern catalonia in the newr future and want to have this set up before hand.

      What do I need and where do I need to go if I need to be there in person ?

      We live in the US and recently got our NIE number at the Spanish Consulate. The process was quite easy. You might want to call the Consulate in your area and ask them what documents you need to bring to apply for the number.

      I got mine from the UK, took 2 weeks with http://nienumber.com/

      I had to go to a UK notary and have my passport notorised which cost around £90, this is on top of what Lawbird charge.

      All in all a simple process and didn’t have to wait in line or go back to collect, Lawbird sent me the docs via DHL
