The amount invested by foreigners in Spanish real estate fell by 15.6% in the first four months of this year compared to the same period last year, according to the Bank of Spain. It marks a continued downward trend in foreign buying, following a drop of 16.7% in 2005 and a 6% drop in 2003. Reasons cited by the bank include rising house prices in the country and increasing interest rates.
