The estate agent, Graham Hunt, who works in the Valencia region, says in the following video that Spain will not experience the same economic collapse as Greece:
He says that Spain is not Greece – well that is correct because Spain is ten times worse than Greece. Greece is a small country with a small economy and so it is quite easy for the rest of Europe to bail out the country but to try to bail out Spain is totally different because Spain has a much larger economy and population and therefore it is impossible to bail out Spain which is why when Greece exits the Euro then Spain will almost certainly be next for the exit as well.
Spain is a sham of a nation that used easy credit to pretend it was a real modern western democracy. It is, in reality, a nightmarish barely developed place where middle income Brits think they’ve found Nirvana. It is Europe’s finest example of a failed state. That allows four out of ten under 25’s to languish on the scrap heap. Spain is corrupt and saddled with cowboy planning and jerry building. The World’s uber rich do not want to live there as their billions are not safe. There is little history left ,especially at the coast which has been bulldozed for chalets and golf courses nobody wants. Large areas are without metalled roads, bin collections, street lights, a postal service. There are few jobs. While Santander trys to tell us it is the Latin American version of HSBC, when in fact it is a bloated RBS.
Graham Hunt is a nobody. Just another chancer trying to earn a living in Spain and big himself and Spain up. We have had links from him on here before 🙄

Actually I seem to remember being accused of being him, when I linked once to his site. 🙂 Well I think it was his “laptop entrepreneur” book I linked to.
Yet here it seems Jake is linking to him several times in a couple of weeks. I think Graham owes him some commission. 8)
I agree katy, he seems to be trying to put a different nicer side to his estate agency and all things property in his location, but somehow it doesn’t appear to be that sincere, he’s got blogs here and there, he’s behind the ‘start-ups in Spain’ with Sur and others, it’s all a bit unreal 🙄 I would not buy through him once I’d checked his fellow bloggers 😉
Can someone tell me why you need to use an estate agent anyway? It’s something that has always puzzled me, especially in these days of self-advertising on internet portals.

When you say Sur, do you mean “Sur in English”? I’m sure you’ve stated before you don’t read Spanish media…
But you seemingly have one up on me. I like to think I know more than most about the Spanish (tech) start-up scene. But I’ve never heard of the ‘start-ups in Spain’ with Sur (blog or otherwise). Can you provide a link?
Quote, ‘We created a Twitter hashtag to promote Spain’ says Graham Hunt. The man behind the initiative for promoting Spain and start-ups Graham Hunt talks to Sur in English.
I have the link but I’m not keen on showing the face of the man yet, but I could, that’s me and am distrustful of some faces.
He did say he didn’t know you ‘M’, porky pie there, however you tweet each other on Twitter and on Miggins Pies. 🙄
Anyway, with all of Spain’s doom and gloom, he started the big-it-up campaign for promoting Spain and Start-ups to counteract the negativity, nothing wrong with promotion but let’s not forget there’s an awful lot to address first.
If others really would like the link, I’ll post it 😉

Thanks for that – easy to find! (edit well, should be easy…)
(btw I follow 723 people on Twitter, and would say I’ve RT “retweeted” at least 300 of those. There are probably only 4 or 5 folk I actually “know” ie met or talked to! So I’m afraid you’re mistaken – I don’t know Graham Hunt personally, but I do see his tweets on a regular basis along with the other 723 – that’s how twitter works).
Ah – I didn’t find it in “Sur in English” but here http://www.sarkemedia.com/case-study-creating-a-trend-on-twitter-spainis/
More of a marketing campaign using social media. I remember it on Twitter, but didn’t realise he’d set up a facebook group – WABAS – Writers and Bloggers About Spain. Feel hurt now I wasn’t invited. 😉
‘M’ when he said he didn’t know you, he did via Twitter, I wasn’t suggesting to him or you that you’d met, but regular tweeters between one another do get to know each other, it’s communication, he’s a regular on Miggins Pies as you know too 😉
Most people do know pretty well people they email or tweet even without meeting.
BTW you weren’t accused of being him either, only that there was a connection with an agent in Valencia, albeit it transpired via Twitter, Start-ups in Spain, Miggins Pies, Laptop Entrepreneurs etc 🙄
Regarding Sur in English, they are different in a not so good way compared to The Olive Press which generally tells things as they are, and Sur generally is big in their smutty sex ads which thankfully are to be banned. At last a positive thing from Spain’s Gov’t in cleaning up Spain’s image, wish they’d regulate all agents and developers next. I wonder where Sur’s main revenues will then come from? 🙄
There you go ‘M’ fancy not invited by him, you can’t trust the man 😆

I’ve had far more conversation with you in a week, than I’ve had with most of the 723 people I follow on twitter. It’s great for finding articles, new links, but it’s not a tool I’d use to communicate with someone. Emails or Private messages even, would be a far better way.
btw I’m not going to publicise my twitter handle personally here (for fear of being accused of self-promotion 😆 ) but I’ve no objection to your doing so – I may get some more followers that way 😉 thx
Spain is a sham of a nation that used easy credit to pretend it was a real modern western democracy.
No need to read any further. You must be a lot of fun at parties. And fyi, ‘easy credit’ is a toxin that was spread by profiteers in real ‘western democracies’ to further their profits.
Spain is still participating in it’s own demise by adhering to what those profiteers are demanding now.
If anything, like most of us, Spain is a victim of capitalism without regulations. And yes, some of Spain’s problems are self-inflicted.
