Hi All,

Lateley I have had a couple of experiences where an electronic form of identification would have made life easier. I.e. finding out my ‘valor catastral’ online etc.

Now I could get myself a digital certificate from CERES but it’s not really portable, as it resides on a computer.

So …….. is it posible for a non-resident, with property in Spain, to obtain an electronic DNI or equivalant on the chipped credit cards ?

If it is, anyone know the process ?

I’m assuming, that with a card reader on the PC, I can perform all the same operations as though I had a digital certificate, and it acts as an identity card that is portable.

Have you tried looking a the national police website, I remember there was something about electronic DNI on there but I have no idea if its helpful…

You can export you digital “root” certificate, and import it easily in so many computers as you desire.

So, it can works in any computer over the world, always if you uses your own key, necessary to encrypt before exporting.

In addition, there is a number of companies (public and semi-public) that act as electronical identification providers.

To access to Catastro you need to have a electronical identification according to you N.I.E. if you want to see all data related to your properties.
