IMAGINE BUYING your dream home in the sun and paying for it in full only to have it re-mortgaged by a rogue builder before being repossessed? This nightmare scenario is a reality for more than a dozen homeowners who bought properties on Bosque del Lomas III from Tecnologia Urbanistica. http://www.roundtownnews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=32915&Itemid=9
think the problem was a crooked developer, agent and lawyer ………. another reminder as to why not to use the agents pet lawyer!!!! when will buyers learn??????????? 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 😡
But I still don’t get how this could be done. The builder and the lawyer I understand but was even the notary in on it? Or did they schedule fake meetings at a fake notary? Or did the lawyers not explain to them that they didn’t actually complete the deal when they met at the notary that day? It’s all done in spanish so I can see how the buyers can be tricked if the lawyer is in on it. Always bring a person knowledgeable in spanish that you trust when doing deals in Spain… sad that it should have to be that way.
“even the notary in on it “
Notaries have been on it. I cannot accept that Notaries operating in their local area’s are not aware as to which development is legal & which one is not !!! whilst knowing that the development is illegal he/she keep’s on notarising sales in those developments.
I can sit in London & point out a very large number of development that are illegal & the Notary does not know what is happening on his/her patch is questionable !!!!!!!!!!!.

Ok didn’t find that in the article? Yes but that’s how it must have been done.
