Some years ago the famous English cricketeer Ian Botham, who owns a property in spain, was involved in a series of advertisements in the national press in which he said “Don’t buy a property in Spain until you have read this”.
Does anybody here remember seeing those ads and can you please tell me what he was trying to say that you should do before buying a property in Spain?
This sounds like a wum, I can smell it, presumably you can research it yourself on Google, who cares what Botham said years ago, he was being paid to advertise some crap development no doubt, it’s not relevant today and no-one will learn anything about buying or not buying in Spain. 😡 It took me 30 seconds to find his link to the estate agent who re-invented themselves, and development, many of these agents and developers used ‘has been’ Z list celebrities to push their overpriced, mis-sold, high commission earners developments that now leave 1000’s in negative equity 😡
All that information is already on the forums here. 😆
@angie. Footballers, Cricketers, Golfers, TV personalities are ofcourse paid for what ever they say or not say. It stands to commercial reasons that they will not say negative things & being paid for it. Having said what I said the competitors may pay for negative publicty. This will than be followd up with defence of a case of libel.
There have been lots of claims about celebs buying property over the years. Beckham was supposedly buying in marbella, Bill Gates on a Malta complex 😆 Would people actually buy because some chinless wonder of a footballer has bought anyway….sadly some probably would! One B celeb was promised an apartment for advertising the development on TV…it never got built 😆
I find it very curios when the media, promotor uses celebs as a markinting tool. How does it effect a normal buyer wheter celeb has a property there or not.
Its like the Monarchist claiming we have a queen & its good for tourism. How many tourist has been invided for a PG tip with the queen ????
