Hello,

We have a property in Almeria which we let out during the summer months. Most of our income is in the months of July,August, September – but we do a lot of the ‘sprucing up’ in the winter. We are aware that the Spanish tax year goes from Jan – Dec and we need to declare any income quarterly.

My question – can we deduct expenses accrued in Jan from the income in June…..ie can we carry over our expenses from one quarter to the next.

Yes, income tax declaration is part of the annual return so the whole year is taken into calculations

I would suggest that you ask this question to your solicitor!

I am not so sure that you have got the correct answer here, and there are many different opionions in this matter
