Hi , I m off to Montemar in 2 weeks, would i be able to find custard apples in the shops/markets then?
i love them and have bigged them up to my girlfriend for months and she is desperate to try them.
The custard apple producing towns are: Granada: Motril, Vélez de Benaudalla, Los Guájares, Molvizar, Ítrabo, Salobreña, Otívar, Lentejí, Jete and Almuñécar. Malaga: Nerja, Frigiliana, Torrox, Algarrobo and Vélez-Málaga.
But they are available in most supermarkets and department stores throughout Spain.
If you can’t find them, you can always show her the picture!
Thanks for the picture as I for one had no idea what one was!!! Are they any good then…
Thanks Charlie, showed her the picture but it did nt taste of anything lol
are they available all year round in southern Spain
Give me a break Chilly – am doing my best here! 😆
OK, I found some information on that and the good news is the peak season for custard apples is now – May/June!
The bad news is…………..this information is regards to Australia. 🙁
If you want, can give you a link for cheap package holidays to Sydney ❓
Is it the Chirimoya here in Spain? If so I think it may be out about September.
The fruit is available from October through the winter in Spain and you’re right Katy, it seems to be called the Chirimoya in Spain.
So Chilly, you’ll be too early to enjoy one…….unless you can find an Australian one.
will have to come back then lol
