I am in the process of trying to get my reservation fee and deposit back from the developers of Ocean Greenery Castalla, Costa Blanca.
The estate agents Ocean Estates International seem to have disappeared,
the developers are in dispute and suing each other right left and centre, the NEW builders are being paid in apartments to complete the work.
It has been hinted at that my Abogados may soon disppear and that the monies paid in to their client’s account are no longer there.
We have a new solicitor who says that we must take the developers to court but I don’t want to pay good money after bad.
The development was due to complete in March 2007.
I’ve just found out that the development is now 60% completed and they need more money for the bathrooms and kitchens.
Have you any words of wisdom 🙄 as to this whole sorry affair?
Many, many people had trouble buying through Ocean Estates and much has been said here about them over the years, you can find posts regarding them if you do a search on here.
As far as I know, they no longer operate in Spain, Bulgaria, Turkey, South Africa. Their founders the Macdonalds sold the Company and still own property near Marbella I believe, the reddish ochre coloured gated apartments down the Golden Mile. Can’t think of the name of their apartments but it will come back to me later.
I also believe one of their Directors Paul Blagdon, and maybe Ian Lister sort of fled to Thailand to start selling property there, you may be able to Google search Ocean Estates Thailand.
The Sunday Times did an undercover expose on them in P. Banus when they were duping 1000’s of Brits in the Boom days, you can also Google search newspaper articles about them, and mis-selling by them. 😡
Hi Angie,
Thank you for that information.
Not only is it a scandal it is a disgrace and I am glad that not all people are like this!
I am still optimistic and I may have to go after the bank next!!

If Petunia or anyone else is still interested in the whereabouts of the Macdonalds who ran Ocean Estates, they now run Polar GMD which they set up after Ocean Estates went sour leaving unpaid tax of 9 Million Euros and many angry clients with losses.
Polar GMD arranges stands at worldwide property exhibitions.
Macdonalds address when not away is: 912 Torre Bermeja, 29680, Estepona, Malaga.
Do you have any names of Directors, managers, staff that you dealt with? Also, try random Google searches of any names?
How the Spanish Gov’t, Tax Office etc allow them to operate with impunity still and based at that address in Spain, owing all that unpaid tax, whilst turning over large sums of money still in their new venture, beats me???
I imagine there’s still a large group of diddled clients as well as unpaid staff who would like to pay them a visit to their home and even at one of these exhibitions they arrange. Maybe inform the authorities in Spain too.
There’s a lot about them too on the http://www.eyeonspain.com website under heading ‘Insight to Ocean Estates’ and other headings. 😉
If I was there I’d give you a hand too, failing that make a couple of effigies of them and stick pins in their privates 8)
