I’m looking for a second home that would become my first home in Spain within a few years.
I’m flexible about the area of Spain, so please forgive the “vagueness” of the enquiry. It’s the property and criteria that are the more important to me. The region becomes a factor once the property characteristics are established. If you have a place to sell that fits the following criteria, please pm me the details.
MUST HAVES
Budget 100,000 – 200,000 euro.
Located within a 15 – 20 minute walk of “somewhere to swim outdoors”, be it an embalse, lake or sea.
Minimum 2 bedrooms.
Condition of repair – at least “liveable in” with connections to power and water. I’m prepared to do some repair if necessary but I’m not looking for a total renovation job.
Proof of being a legal build.
NICE TO HAVE
Outside space – somewhere to eat, relax.
Within walking distance of being able to obtain basic foodstuffs.

It’s only 85 000 euros. We thought we’d price it low, for a quicker sale.
It’s a three bedroom house,with a patio and roof terrace (both small, but fine for eating outside or sunbathing) 10 mins from a large lake, where people swim, sail, etc.
It’s a village house, a genuine white washed andalucian village, definitely not an urbanisation! the village has a supermarket, bars, restaurants, and plenty of vans come round selling all sorts of stuff.
It’s in the province of Granada, 30 mins to the airport (Granada), 40 mins to the coast (Torre Del Mar).

You might be interested in my flat, which I have to vacate for family reasons unfortunately.
The flat is a 4-bedroom (one currently allocated to office use). It has just been completely renovated and has town-gas-fired, central heating, all bedrooms and sitting room air conditioned, all new electrics, induction plate cooking, two bathrooms, new plumbing, roof insulation etc. The roof insulation is because it’s on the TOP floor of a very well located (though not particularly beautiful) building in Tarragona, which is one of the nicer cities in Spain.
I looked for a Tarragona flat for about three years and eventually chose this one because:
1) It is VERY well located – near to every conceivable shop and facility, and only a 20-minute walk to Tarragona beach (El Miracle !) and not any old walk – the walk takes you through medieval and then Roman Tarragona (Tarragona is said to have been the second city of the Roman Empire)
2) It is on a quiet street – quiet is a rare commodity in some parts of Spain as you probably know already! And, because its the top floor (7th floor), there is no one marching around above your head.
3) It’s south-south-west facing and so gets sun all day long. It has a small, but perfectly adequate, covered balcony to take the sun and have a cup of tea or whatever. Tarragona has a great climate – no doubt why the Romans made it their main base.
4) The neighbours are pleasant and reasonable
