Siblings have received a Spanish property as an inheritance from their deceased parents. Once IHT is paid, is there any advantage in the siblings waiting a period of time before selling so as to pay less capital gains tax. I was told waiting five years before selling would lower the CGT bill. Or is the capital gains tax after selling still the same regardless of duration in their name. The property is in the Alicante province.
