Can anyone enlighten me as to whether you need to produce Bank Statement at any stage of the buying process in Spain?
When I bought my UK house, I had to produce 3 years of Bank Statements for some reason before I could get a mortgage and getting old copies from the Bank proved to be very expensive at £3.00 per sheet!.
I have an online bank account now so it’s easier but they do start to delete them after 10 months or so.
If I do need to provide Bank Statements at some time in the future it would be handy to know now, just in case.
Thanks.

You may need copies of bank statements and tax declarations only if you intend buying with a mortgage.

Thanks for the replies.
I don’t intend to get a mortgage as I’ll be a cash buyer so that’s OK then.
Would I need bank statements for anything to do with moving to Spain?
I appreciate that debts are attached to property rather than the person in Spain but do you need anything to prove that you haven’t legged-it from the UK owing thousands!?
I’ve got no Tax Returns to worry about (as far as I know) so once we sell-up and come over to Spain we’ll be homeless until we find something and our pension income will be in the UK banks until we are sorted. We may decide to get a Spanish Bank account in the UK like SOL but it’s a way off yet.
Thanks again to Rawlins and ck1.

Then I can’t think of why anyone would want a bank statement.
