Lucainena de las Torres is a lovely place – though it’s a fair drive inland and not really near any large towns. If you are looking for peace and tranquility and a place to “chill out” – this is a good place to be.

Buying in Almeria is the same as buying elsewhere in Spain. Be very cautious – use your own truly independant lawyer and insist on Bank Guarantees for any payments that you make. Speak to a lawyer BEFORE you pay anything – even an allegedly “refundable” reservation fee.
Better still buy a good book and read about the potential pitfalls – there are a number of publications which you might find useful – look at the Resources section on this site for some ideas.

If you are looking at properties with P…… Properties – you should be VERY wary of their practices. A look at the www. Holiday Truths.co.uk website for Mollina Hills might give you some idea of what to look out for if you are considering buying with them.

Almeria is a lovely part of Spain – more unspoilt then some other provinces. The only cavaet is that water shortages impact more on this area.

      Good luck with your visit.

I have just purchased in Almerimar in the south of Almeria. This is an upmarket marina resort with golf etc. Alot of development in the town at the moment though. Well worth considering. !

Am looking to buy here myself. Do you mind saying where you bought? Do earthquakes affect this area as badly as they did in Adra?
