BlockedEcologists and neighbours in East Marbella have just lost another battle.
Plans have been agreed for a developer to build 152 homes on previously “protected” dunes in Las Chapas. Neighbours have been given a month to comment…what a joke, even the junta has given the green light to the project and some bulldozers were in the area as early as October 👿
I did say when this Mayor took over she would be no better than Gil and the rest. Her love of travelling and partying and interests in property development.

Participant“Her love of travelling and partying”
There is nothing wrong in travelling & partying as far as one does his/her work professionally, diligently, honestly & with integrity. We should also keep in mind that the Latins are famous for partying and long may it stand.

BlockedYet again katy, the stupid Spanish Gov’t wants to compound the destruction and mess it has already created along it’s coastline with more bland ugly urbanizations.
If they continue, they will put people off forever and never be able to reverse this scar. Greed and corruption behind it all, and property prices will fall and remain low for years.
The King would weep if he flew over this mess again as he once did! 😡

Absolutely agree! but not in the context she does her travelling which seems to be on Marbella tax payers money. The excuse being that she is publicising marbella. Her attendance at “freebies” is well documentated, anywhere for a drink and her face in the local rags.
Anyway that’s the trivial part. More pressing are the rumours that marbella/Istán boundries have been changed in such a way the the Mayor and her family’s company dealing in land is a winner!!

Blockedyes it was a bit vague shakeel, I meant the King of Spain (or is he ex now), when he flew over the Costas a year or two back, he was shocked and saddened by all the overdeveloped mess and the loss of hillsides and countryside given over to construction. 😉

Participantthe planning was approved in 2006; nothing to do with this mayor. Katy, with all the improvements the town hall is doing in Elviria I’m surprised you are not keen on her staying on in power; not to mention the continous upgrading going on in most areas – something that has not happened in the last twenty years !!! 😛 personally I don’t think she is corrupt – well, not like the fools before her – she’ll cover her tracks !! but at least she is saving the marbella coast from itself ……..

BlockedJust depends what your view of improvements are. An Uncle has a villa which overlooked eucaliptos trees and an advocado farm (elviria). Now it is a massive roundabout that could even cope with traffic leaving the M25. I also don’t go for the areas naturally pretty that they are going to turn into parks…..A few benches and a kids playground instead of a place for rabbits, wild boar etc and somewhere to walk the dogs and ride horses. Sure it will please some people though but she is not popular with the spanish. Maybe not as corrupt as the last bunch but not entirely “white” either.
