      Hi,

If it is the same apartments I think they are – about 10 years ago went on a cancellation holiday – didn’t know what I was getting – stayed two days and requested to be moved. I have travelled alot and wouldn’t mind place being basic which they were – but once food was produced – the ants came in their hoardes and they weren’t clean, were lots of cats haning around and would come into apartment once door was opened – I won’t go on. But the location is uphill from the beach – quite a walk. Now maybe I’m wrong and maybe they have had a good overhaul but the name rings a bell. I had never any reason to complain about any other holiday I’ve been on bar that one. I wouldn’t say it was a good buy.

What the complex was like ten years ago probably has little bearing on what lt’s like now. If you think it’s a good deal, why not go and have a look?

You could then also judge the location. Which, of course, is the thing you can’t change!

(Ants and Lanzarote go hand in hand! There are several good fumigation companies on the island that advertise regularly in the Lanzarote Gazette.)

Don’t know the apartments in question but we have enjoyed some great winter sun in the canary’s including Lanzarote. I’m sure there is decent value out there even if prices may slip further. People cannot pass useful comment unless they have seen the place in the flesh since they have been refurbished. Saw some apartments last year in Fuerteventura that had been refurbished to a very high standard, much higher than when they were holiday accommodation. If you decide to go for it Doc, good luck.

      Villan,

You say “people cannot pass useful comment until you have seen the refubr” – what about “location, location, location” I thought they were quite a walk to the beach. I have been to lanzarote about 5 times, loved it I must say apart from the bitacora apartments – if they have had a bad name over the years – it may be hard to shift that reputation even with a refurb.

“Quite a walk from the beach”
      WHAT?!!
5 minutes MAX if you stroll very, very slowly.
Of course they are “uphill” otherwise they would be underwater.
Most if not all best ones are now sold, however the developer has a sister complex with some still for sale. Much smaller and much higher refurb standard.
One bad experience on holiday 10 years ago is hardly valid information for the present day.
