What are the best websites showing spanish property for sale?

I know of the websites: idealista.com and fotocasa.com and the overseas section of rightmove.co.uk and findaproperty.co.uk – are there any other decent websites?

On the websites idealista.com and fotocasa.com is it possible to do a search for the lowest priced property across the whole of Spain or in a particular region of Spain like Andalucia rather than a particular city like Alicante? Can someone tell me how to do a search for a property in a province like Andalucia rather than in a particular city like Alicante, thankyou.

Andalucia is an autonoma rather than a province. Autonomas like Andalucia are split into provinces (e.g. Jaen, Granada, etc). Many provinces have the same name as their principle cities, which can be misleading. “Alicante” is both the name of a province and the name of the main city, so when someone talks about Alicante you’re never quite sure whether they are refering to the city or the province. With idealista and fotocasa when you search within Alicante you are actually searching within the Alicante province, which covers all the north costa blanca, rather than just Alicante town. So the results do cover quite a wide area. However those websites don’t let you search within entire autonomas (I imagine that would involve a lot more number crunching and slow down their websites). With idealista you can move around by clicking on a map (you need to play around with it a bit). In fact it is a very well designed site, although it might not have so many of the types of property you are looking for.

Idealista and Fotocasa tend to cover a lot of residential property (like Rightmove in the UK) and also handle property being sold directly by the owner (rather than via an agent). Sites like http://www.kyero.com are more focused on coastal/expat property.

Just type Andalucia in the search box on fotocasa.es and hit return (or buscar). It will return all the properties in Andalucia … (all 66,000) of them!! You can then order them by price order (high-low … low-high) by clicking the price title several times.

If you can’t find the property you want on fotocasa you never will!

Unfortunately one of the problems with Fotocasa is it doesn’t allow you to view all the properties together on a map. So for many of the properties listed you have no idea where they are unless you go through clicking on them one-by-one! Even if you did try to do that you’d find the next problem with Fotocasa – they repeat certain adverts on each page – so you have to trawl through the results identifying and skipping properties you have already looked at.

Also a search for “Javea” on Fotocasa returns 1,104 results, while the same search on Kyero returns about 47,400 results. I expect part of that is because Kyero often has the same property listed a few times by different agents, and it also covers things like plots of land, etc. Kyero might also include more properties from surrounding areas. However I wouldn’t just stick to Fotocasa when looking for a house in a town like Javea.
