The regeneration of the Barcelona’s Port Vell as a destination for Mega yachts is nearly finished and there are some BIG boats in there already. I wonder what the impact is on the property scene in Barcelona. Will it bring more of the super rich? And will they buy posh flats landside as well or will they just stay aboard when in town?

I’m planning to write about this in the not too distant future.

I imagine it will help consolidate Barcelona’s growing reputation as a top European city and destination for wealthy buyers looking for pied-à-terres and investments.

From what I can tell, Barcelona’s on course to be a property hot-spot in the coming years.

I was explaining prime Barcelona property prices to a friend from Tel Aviv last night. He couldn’t believe that Barcelona is just 25pc of the price of Tel Aviv.

And I know of several high-end emblematic projects in the pipeline that will help position Barcelona as an upmarket destination for property investors.

We also need to keep an eye on the Glòries and Sagrera transformation.
