Mark, cant you possibly enable comments on your news section? Ive tried to sign up a couple of times and still cant write comments or see others.

Not possible to just allow a simple site level signup for comments?

Hmmm, let me look into this. It comes as a surprise to me. You should be able to make sign up to comment without any problems.

Well, it just says “You must be logged in to post a comment.” which links to a word press login. I dont have a word press login, is that what I need to do, sign up for word press?

Are you getting a lot of comments on your articles? I can never see any. If you are not getting many comments, then I suspect theres some usability problems in leaving them, because I have no doubt that your articles are well read.

Nope, me neither, tried once or twice, as it is the most interesting read I get in my inbox every month or so, but never been able to post a comment or even seen one!

Funny how these things get overlooked, I just assumed it wasn’t really there for comment even if it said to do so. And actually I always thought it was surprising, as there should have been plenty given the topics and comment on the forum itself 😐

Okay, I’ve worked out the problem. The blog configuration did not allow anyone new to register, and if you’re not registered you can’t post – catch 22.

I have rectified that. You will now see in the right hand column of my Spanish property blog the word “Register”. Click that and follow the instructions. Very simple.

Once you have your username and password you can comment all you like.

Unfortunately, the blog and this forum run on different platforms, so you have to register for both if you want to comment on both.
