      Hi Every body

Just hoping for some info 😛

I have an apartment in Fuerteventura and managed to negociate a deal I can live with and Solbank.
They have extended mortgage till I am over 80 😳
I would be offended but I only look 25 😛

But the change means going to Notary, there are loads of Notary’s in Ireland there must be a way to avoid travelling and handing another big wad of cash to the Notary

The stupid thing is worth way less than I paid for it so I am liable to throw the whold stupid mess brick by brick into the sea.

Hi Kathy, as you have renegotiated the mortgage, this deed has to be notarized.

You can appoint a power of attorney to do this on your behalf, either a lawyer or a friend, but the deed has to be signed at notary and I suspect the bank has the option of choosing which one!

Its probably cheaper to fly out than pay for a poa to be notarized near you and sent over!!

I think that both of you are wrong in part.

To modify a spanish morgage is necesary a deed signed before a spanish notary. But, if this modification consist only in extend the deadline, then the notary fees are not more than 200 E.

To sign the modification deed you can grant a power before a Irish notary ant apostille the deed and send it to Spain by mail.
The global cost will be not much.
In spain the bank is not allowed to chose the notary. The notary must be choosed by the client, if not is a law infringment.
