Just to warn you all that I will be experimenting with a new design (forum look) in the next few weeks. Hopefully it will be an improvement….. 🙂
CHANGES SHOULD TAKE EFFECT THIS WEEK
Feedback welcome.

As long as I can continue to post from a train 200 feet below the San Francisco bay, I’m fine with it!

Sounds like Escape from Alcatraz! It wasn’t on my list of design requirements, but I don’t think it will cause you any problems.

Sounds like Escape from Alcatraz!
Sadly, it is my commute to work, which includes 11 minutes of fun in a train beneath the San Francisco Bay.
And FYI, the earlier post was from that location.
Looking forward to the new design!

Maybe next week…..mañana mañana.

When a Spaniard says ‘tomorrow’ he means maybe next week or month, when he says ‘mañana.’ he means sometime in the next three months or more, when he says ‘soon’ it’s next year or the year after. 🙂 Imminent he would never understand.

Which is of course the usual unproveable prejudice.
I go into a Spanish bar and order a coffee (or a glass of beer) and it’s there before me in seconds, certainly before the equivalent in the UK has worked out how to navigate the keyboard on the till supplied by the pubco…
Or, on the other scale, how many years will it be before we can catch a fast train between 2 British cities? Maybe 2030 before the London to Birmingham link is built. Good job we have Spanish construction companies building the Crossrail link, or it’d never get completed… -

I’m happy that you no longer have me on your Ignore list!
I will amend the post as I respect the board, not your opinion.
I’ve worked with Spanish people both in Spain and in the UK and had the privilege of working with extremely able and hard-working workers. I’ll trust my own experience over a talkboard troll anyday. -

Reminds me of the old quote “If you want something doing, ask a busy man!”
Hope it all goes well!

I like the new landing page! A lot of information available on the one screen.

Wow! Progress. I hadn’t even noticed because I always go direct to unread posts.
Yes, it looks okay as a starting point. There are more changes to come, hopefully all for the better.

I didn’t know there was a Fraggi close to Sants. But it’s pissing down here too just off Bonanova ☔

The new forum style is finished and about to be activated.
You can see what it looks like if you click this link
portal.php?style=5It will be the default style in a couple of hours time.
You can always go back to the old style if you wish, but I much prefer the new one 😀

How do we go back to the old style?
This new one is hard to read..

DB, I urge you to stick with the new style for a while. Once you get used to it you realise it’s much easier to read. It only seems harder to read because you are unfamiliar with it. Change is always traumatic 😀
But if you really can’t bear it then just select “Subsilver2” from the board style menu in the lefthand column of the front page https://www.spanishpropertyinsight.com/forums/
You can also set your preferred style in your user control panel.

Maybe it is just me, but I do use quite a lot of different talkboards, and this was the first time I found it difficult to read.
So thanks for the tip Mark, I’m back using the subsilver theme. -

Have found the new design ok and getting used to it, but only just noticed the ‘thanks’ thing, so, what is that all about and where do I thank others please, haven’t worked that one out yet? Is it something we should do as a courtesy? 😕

If you like a post you can thank the author. Don’t feel obliged to thank in return though.
I don’t really know much about forum thanks etiquette. Will have to learn on the job 😀

I’m moving the Spanish property news flow from my blog to this forum, as you may have noticed. I’m going to use my blog to do more reports and features, less news flow.
I haven’t decided yet whether to put the news flow in a separate forum or a sub-forum of this one, or just leave it as it is. Any suggestions welcome.
