      Some comments from other Forum:

“noise and loud music all evening, until late at night, from a large group of mostly young people from the Czech Republic we now have graffiti in the garage block 19/21.”

“5 or 6 Eastern Europeans are renting in the apartment longterm”

“there was a notice up at the supermarket with names on for the fruit pickers, i believe the coach comes to the resort to pick them up. They are all stood around in gangs.”

“a violent row broke out between a girl and guy on the corridor above my apartment. They were screaming at each other in a foreign language at the top of their voices and it seemed to go on forever. The guy began to beat the girl up and I called over to security”

“I have learnt from my keyholder today that these Migrants appear to have suddenly arrived en masse and are running riot round the Development. They appear to be young people with no respect, just enjoying the five star facilities and getting legless. “

This is one PW 5 star golf resort, built between orange trees and far away from everything. And I thought it was too quiet when I visited it in December 2007…

Is this the future of all these resorts built in the middle of nowhere? It is very worrying.

On the other hand, it was expected to happen this way…

I m afraid it is the inevitable concequence of the down turn. Use needs to be made from empty property nobody wants to but or rent.
I think eventually the Government will purchase most of them and turn them into social housing for immigrant families……Socialism in action!

Well, the problem is that people paid £200K+ for those properties and were expecting to get lots of rentals at £300+ per week…

Old news or non-old news, I do not think that people who paid good money for La Torre resort expected to see Ucraineans and Czech manual laborers drinking cheap beer by the pool day-in day-out.

I feel pity for the few who bought for lifestyle reasons in PW resorts.

ralita never does see anything positive BUT by own admission has no interest in the Spanish Property Market at the moment, but could if prices fell to 10% of current values. By own admission, in a previous post, ralita would only visit Spain as a tourist if employer was footing the bill!!

ralita makes a great deal of effort trying to talk down the market in Spain when should be more concerned in what is going to happen in the UK market (especially the North East) where falls of 50% are expected.

Who in their right mind would buy PW for lifestyle reasons? Miles from anywhere with a Jack Nichlaus approved (for a payment) golf course as your only facility? A quote from Nichlaus’s own web site “With the name Nicklaus behind a golf course, its value is enhanced tremendously. And that value will only grow with time.” Don’t think so, just a fantasy! In the same way the old items of news you find and post that try to talk down the market in Spain to that magic 10% figure at which you could or would buy, Nicklaus obviously does not care how his name is used provided he is paid.

Why not? I do the same for my trips to Switzerland, France, USA, Italy, Romania, germany, Sweden, South Africa. As far as people invite me there… I am not sure what your beef is with this. You did not smoke you pack of cigarettes this morning or what?

Smokers have their way of being grumpy when they did not get their fix.

I would be very happy if UK property goes down by 50%. But you know well that this is very unlikely.

My only beef is that you seem to scour other forums on a regular basis to pick up on articles referred to by others there and then take those that are negative and repost them on this forum, often out of context and with your understanding of what that article means often being (to say the least) cloudy!

You have (by your own admission) no interest in the Spanish Property market, so why constantly talk it down using second hand, often misunderstood and outdated material.

Just wait and see – I think you will find that some areas of Tyneside are already suffering 25-30% falls and the UK is only just starting to see the crunch bite. Things will only get worse.

The government has already signalled it’s intention to provide social housing from the unsold properties either half built or built in the south. These properties were intended for sale to foreigners at inflated prices until the boom went bust. Now can you imagine a cash strapped developer with the bank on their backs turning away good government money to sell off unsold blocks, albeit for a loss to get out of trouble? The idea that they would consider the poor hapless off plan buyer is just a fantasy. It’s just tough. So it’s either live among the socially deprived and do good works or lock up and leave.
This is one risk this particular writer will not take. One more among the many.

      Hi Logan,

I think it is very unfortunate that these things happened. Murcia seemed like a nice area in December, but it was obvious that La Torre resort was too empty for the Christmas week. Hope you will do OK.
