Half-built new developments left to rot on the Spanish coast are a disaster in very respect; environmental, economic, and social. Here is a really dreadful one in Cala Romántica, Manacor, Mallorca, by a developer called Terráplois, financed by that paragon of banking virtue CAM. Quite apart from anything else the architecture in this case is truly appalling. They must have sunk tens of millions of Euros into the project to get this far. How did lunatics capable of producing such an awful project ever get financing?
There are several abandoned developments on Alhaurin Golf too, they look awful and don’t help anyone trying to sell their existing properties some of which have been on the market for 4-5 years now. Then there’s a completely abandoned golf course project with 2 show properties up the road from there towards Mijas 🙄
If you look at the build quality of the abandoned ones in their raw state, you would not wish to buy there if they were finished, paper thin hollow bricks in between joining walls. 😡 Typical poor Spanish new build. 🙄
corruption everywhere; even the Kings son in law has been caught committing fraud and is going to be prosecuted soon……… in spain the ones that are not corrupt are the stupid ones !!!! 😥 😥 😥 😥 Rajoy will slowly change them, you watch a new spain arising from the ashes !!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s true, there has been a lot of corruption in Mallorca, much of it related to real-estate. That said, they’ve protected their coastline better than other areas.
