Wow! I am glad I don’t drink beer 🙂 I did notice I paid 2.5E for a tiny expresso in Marbella last week.

How does the beer price compare with the UK?

My husband says beer is around £3.50 a pint. A glass of OK’ish wine (small ) is around £4.50. That’s what we paid yesterday with lunch in Guildford.

Guildford is clearly more expensive than where I am near Rye in East Sussex. My local charges £2.60 a pint for a great real ale, £2 during happy hour from 5-7 p.m.

In the back streets of Los Boliches in Fuengirola where I was recently a glass of wine and a cana were one Euro each in a Spanish bar with some olives thrown in free. It was more expensive in the promenade cafes.

There are always cheap places to drink, even in marbella. I would think though (especially for people on holiday) that they would not always choose to hang around some of these transport caffe type places. When I am on holiday I like a bit of class.

I have no problem with hard work claire, but people would find you less prickly if you were to be a little less aloof. I say this with genuinely no ill feelings as I would like more civility on these forums
