Inheritance tax to pay on death of spouse in Andalusia?

      My neighbour’s husband just died a week ago. He and his wife are tax paying residents in Andalucia Spain. Does the widow have to pay tax on inheriting his half of their home. The total value of the property is €170,000

      The surviving spouse will almost certainly not have to pay inheritance tax (sucesiones), but might have to pay the municipal plusvalia tax, which should be low.

      I’ll double check with a lawyer in Andalusia. But can you tell me, what municipality?

      Hi Mark, thank you so much. The municipality  is Town Hall Mijas, address  Mijas Costa. Is that what you require.

      Hi Mark. Further more a stipulation in the will was to apply British law which I understand is allowed now  with recent changes in Spsnish Law. Does this  have an affect on the taxes.
