A brand new Marbella mansion, with six en-suite bedrooms, handsomely landscaped lawns, swimming pool and two rooms in the basement that could be used as a gym and sauna (or cinema and wine cellar, depending on your preference). It first went on the market in 2008 at £4m.
The Villa Porroig looks like a cross between a James Bond baddies’ HQ and an entry in an architectural competition.
All pure-white cubes and rectangles, it has between three and five bedrooms (depending on how you configure it), and a swimming pool and four bathrooms (one bath is even located out on one of the terraces).
This being Ibiza, there is a specially designated chill-out area, and closeness to the airport (five miles away) means you can stay pretty relaxed, even on departure day. Beachwise, Cala Jondal, on the south coast, is one of the island’s best.
Hmm wonder where it is in Marbella. I would go for no.1 Jumby Bay, Antigua. Lovely place, my Daughter was married there. The one in South Africa is great too.
Missing from the list was a house on one of the Swiss lakes like Lugano. One of the most beautiful places in the world, some of the most beautiful houses. All very civilised too.
I think the views from the Swiss/Italian lakes homes like Lugano are much nicer than most in Spain even from La Zagaleta where there’s often an urban sprawl seen in the distance.
Not been to Jumby Bay katy but heard it’s beautiful, but have been to a villa on a hill looking out on to Nonsuch Bay Antigua which was superb, also some of the homes overlooking Naples Beach Florida, Coronado Beach and La Jolla, both in California also take some beating 😉
