Apart from being a popular holiday home residential area, Salou is a highly successful tourism resort with plenty of facilities and activities to enjoy.
Over the last year or so there has been a slight decrease in property prices here with an average price for an apartment of around €180,000 going up to €500,000 for a villa.
Here the buyers are mainly Spanish (80%), with British (10%) and Germans (10%) and their average spend is approximately €400,000. The most requested properties are apartments and villas close to the sea.
The main attractions of this area include the beaches, the excellent climate, easy access to International Reus Airport, which is only 10 kms away and is being used by low cost airlines such as Ryanair.
Salou has great nightlife and a good choice of bars and discotheques. For family fun the Port Aventura themed adventure park is nearby. The excellent infrastructure will be further enhanced by two new golf courses.
The local office highlights the area of Cap Salou as offering good value for money and predicts that the market will remain at the same level although there might be some change after the location elections in March of this year.
