Buy homes in Spain direct from owners

These Spanish properties are for sale direct from their owners, with no agent or broker in the middle.

Some owners prefer to market their Spanish homes direct to potential buyers to avoid having to pay an agency commission, whilst others owners offer their homes for sale direct as well as using estate agents as a way to improve their chances of finding a buyer quickly. In the more remote parts of Spain, like rural areas and the lesser-known coasts, it can be difficult to find estate agents and brokers with the capacity to market Spanish properties internationally, which means that owners have little choice but to market their own properties for sale direct if they want to reach a wider group of potential buyers. Every vendor has their own motivations, and here potential buyers can find a selection of Spanish properties for sale direct from owners. These properties for sale by owner direct (FSBO) are listed at the property portal thinkSPAIN, and advertised here in collaboration with Spanish Property Insight. If you click on a property you will be redirected in a new tab to thinkSPAIN for more information.

The advantages of buying and selling Spanish property direct from owners (also known as Spanish FSBO – for sale by owner)

The big advantage of FSBOs is they cut out the agent’s commission, which leaves more money in the pot for both the buyer and the vendor to negotiate over. So buying or selling Spanish property direct can be a way to save thousands of Euros in agents commission. Another advantage is that owners are normally happy to reveal the exact location of their property for sale in Spain, whereas most agents don’t publish exact locations to avoid the competition approaching the vendor.

On the downside, vendors have to set asking price themselves, with no input from a well-informed local agent, and have to deal with all enquiries themselves, which often means dealing with a fair number of time-wasters.
