Spanish construction activity falls 9.6% in November

Spanish construction sector activity fell by 9.6% in November compared to the same month last year, the biggest fall of all the EU countries analysed by Eurostat – the EU’s statistics office.

Of the 13 countries who provide construction sector data to Eurostat, Spain suffered the biggest fall in output, followed by Slovenia -8.2%; The United Kingdom -6.3%, and Portugal -5.3%.

Output increased the most in Slovakia +16.5% and Romania +13.8%.

Overall, construction activity in the EU fell by an annualised 4.2% in November.
