The bedroom on this level opens onto a patio terrace and has access to the fields. This room can also be used as a cosy sitting room if bedrooms aren’t needed.

Moving up to the first floor, there is a landing area which leads to the 3 bedrooms.

The twin bedroom gives onto the pretty plaza to the front and there is an interior double bedroom plus a fabulous bedroom with it’s own private terrace offering the most amazing vistas across the surrounding countryside.

There is a newly created bathroom on this level to serve all three bedrooms.

Up a further set of stairs and we come to the lightest, brightest living space in the village with ample space for a sitting room, dining area and separate kitchen with pantry/utility room. The whole space on this level is open plan and creates a spacious and relaxed feeling to soak up the views.

There is a terrace off the kitchen with sufficient space for washing machine, fridge and freezer and an outside sink – this overlooks the pretty Andalusian plaza to the front.

The owners bought the property in the Autumn of 2009, and since that time they have done much work to improve the house. Valor, the Alpujarras and Sierra Nevada

Valor is a friendly, rural white washed village about 900m above sea level, there are 2 supermarkets which sell fresh meat and locally grown produce. There are a range of bars and restaurants offering a wide choice of local cuisine and all the bars serve delicious tapas.

The owners’ favourite bar is just a 5 minute walk from the house and is called Bar Azahara . Paco, the owner, will make you feel most welcome and spoil you with his constant supply of the most delicious tapas anywhere in Spain! Equally, if you want to join in with the ex-pats of the village they are a friendly bunch.

Very close to the house is an old threshing circle, this has been turned into a parking area for local residents. You can drive up to the house if you have shopping or luggage to un-load, but you park on the threshing circle.

Valor is a very popular destination with walkers and bird watchers alike. The famous GR7 route which starts in Gibraltar and ends in Austria goes through the village. The nearest beach is just over an hour’s drive.

Valor also has a swimming pool, chemist, school and bank. It is situated 75mins from Almeria airport, 90 minutes from Granda airport and 3 hours from Malaga airport.

The Alpujarras is a delightful area on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range with many white villages dotted amongst the olive groves and mountains.

The area has long been a popular destination for those looking for a more relaxed way of life in a traditional, farming environment. Traditional trades and techniques are still used to cultivate produce and the famous Alpujarran rugs are always a popular purchase.
