The largest towns in the area are Alzira and Xativa, both 20 minutes’ drive where everything is available.
The local Rail and Metro services are cheap and a great way to explore the local countryside as well as the vibrant city of Valencia, with its stunning architecture, International airport and miles of coastline. This is just a 40 minute drive or train ride away and there are also a number of excellent golf courses and beaches within 40 minutes’ drive.
Quite near the beach in Valencia you will find The City of Arts and Sciences famed for its modern glass buildings where you could spend a whole day visiting each attraction.
In the surrounding countryside there is an abundance of orange groves and some rice fields as the Valencian area is famous for growing and exporting both. There are many historic towns with lots of small bars where you can sample the local food, also some first-class restaurants. Eating out in the area is inexpensive and feeding 6 persons averages under €50 including wine.
The owners can recommend a housekeeper, a man who will clean and maintain the pool and a gardener, all reliable and speak perfect English or you can do the tasks yourself.
