PROPERTY WATCH: Keep an eye on your home in Spain

Get great visibility into your Spanish property with an innovative new system that gives you a time-stamped picture record of everyone who comes and goes through the main door, plus the option of watching other important entrance/exit points and areas, all from one intuitive chat you can access on any smart device, and share easily with others.

Visibility means you see who comes and goes, and when. You can see if your property is being cleaned and maintained when it should be. You have a picture record of services and deliveries, and you know when family members get home, which is useful for keeping an eye on kids, and others in your care. And, of course, you know if intruders like squatters get in, and can take action to respond to that threat. But this is not just another home surveillance system like all the others. It works in a completely novel and intuitive way that makes it super easy to use.

Intuitive chat format

Almost everyone today knows how to use a chat like WhatsApp or Telegram Messenger, so everyone will quickly understand how to use this system, because it runs like a chat on Telegram Messenger – one of the biggest chat platforms in the world. You control the surveillance equipment in your property via a chat, using simple button-commands like /arm, /disarm, and /pic (to request pictures), whilst the system sends you alerts and pictures back to you via the same chat. Everyone understands it immediately.

Not only is it easy to use, the chat format also makes it more useful than just a way to watch your property. You can share your chat with everyone you need to (like family members, a cleaner, or property manager), and use it like an ordinary chat to manage your property, and the life around it. Everyone you share the chat with will understand how it works in no time at all.

Whenever the sensors in your property are triggered by movement, or the door opening and closing, you get a picture in the chat immediately, so you can see what is going on. And you can request pictures from your cameras at any time.

Easy to set up

It takes five minutes or less to set up your property-watch chat on your smart phone. When your home surveillance equipment arrives at your Spanish property you just plug it in, and it works! You don’t have to configure anything, and if you can’t get to your property in Spain, someone else you trust can plug it in for you. It’s the easiest home-surveillance system in the world to set up.

Simple to use

Thanks to the intuitive chat format, the system is also simple to use, and easy to share with anyone you need to. The simplicity of the system is a big advantage for people who don’t want to waste time learning how to configure and use a complicated system, which is the case with most other home-surveillances products.

Defence against squatters

Squatter extortion gangs holding property to ransom are an increasing threat to second-home owners in Spain. The probability of it happening is low, but if it does happen, it’s an expensive nightmare to sort out, so all owners should take reasonable steps to protect their Spanish property against this risk. The more steps you take, the better, cost permitting.

Certified alarm companies (who can call the police on your behalf) are the best defence, but they are expensive, and not wholly reliable, whatever they claim. So, even if you have a certified alarm, it’s a good idea to have you own home-surveillance equipment as a backup, just in case.

If you don’t have a certified alarm, then home surveillance equipment is a must, because otherwise you are defenseless against squatter extortion gangs. If squatters get in without your knowledge you can’t respond, and the longer they are left undisturbed, the harder and more expensive it will be for you to get them out. Your own home-surveillance system should always be part of the mix, especially if it does not cost you much to buy and run.

Low cost

All home surveillance systems need an internet connection to work. Broadband in Spain typically costs 20€/month (240€/year), which is an extra cost many second-home owners can do without. This system comes with its own internet connection, so you can avoid the cost of paying for broadband that you don’t need for most of the year. And although you can buy similar devices like cameras and sensors online at Amazon, they will cost you significantly more to buy, and will be a headache to configure. So you can save money on both the purchase and running costs with this system, not to mention a lot of time.

Other advantages

  • You can watch multiple properties, or other assets like boats or motorhomes, from the same chat
  • You can keep an eye on your property from anywhere in the world
  • You can add or remove people from your property-watch chat at the touch of a button, as long as they are on Telegram
  • If you move home just unplug it and take it with you. It’ll work wherever you plug it back in

Cost

This system is a combination of devices like cameras and sensors, plus a service to make it run online so you can watch your property from anywhere in the world.

This new system it is being launched in ‘beta testing’ mode, with limited availability, and a big discount for the first clients, as there may still be some bugs in the software to identify and fix. The big discount compensates the beta testing clients for any inconveniences resulting from a new product and service, and for helping to identify any problems that need fixing. The beta testing name of this new system is HouseMatix.

This beta test involves a ‘Front Door Pack’ including all the equipment you need to keep an eye on the main door of your property. In future it will be possible to add more sensors and cameras but the Front Door Pack is enough for most properties. The Front Door Pack includes 1 x camera, door sensor, motion sensor, controller, modem and shipping to Spain.

The equipment included in this beta testing promotion (see Front Door Pack above) costs €150 including VAT and shipping, delivered by courier anywhere in Spain. Almost exactly the same equipment would cost you 230€ at Amazon, but wouldn’t work in the same easy way, which is only made possible by the HouseMatix software and service.

The service normally costs €100 for six months, or €175 for 12 months, including VAT. However, in this promotion the service is offered with a 50% discount for the first year.

Therefore, the beta testing prices are as follows (inc. shipping & Spanish VAT):

Front Door Pack equipment 150€
12-month service fee 87.50€ (normally 175€)
TOTAL 237.50€ to pay now
Annual service renewal fee 175€ charged in a year’s time

You have a full money-back guarantee if you cancel within 14 days of plugging in your equipment, and a further 3-month money back guarantee on all equipment if returned in perfect order. There is no money-back guarantee on the service fee outside of the first 14-day period. You can read the full T&Cs of this promotion here.

Availability is limited, so don’t delay if you are interested. Please note the equipment must be shipped to a Spanish address during this promotion. All clients will also get a free annual subscription to SPI that will shortly be introduced worth 59.90€/year including Spanish VAT.
