Juan Martin Serón, the Mayor of Alhaurin el Grande, was re-elected last month despite there being tape recordings of him demanding ‘payments’ in exchange for licences, and being released on bail re. corruption charges.
Now we know why he was re-elected…..
El Pais reports today that several shopkeepers in Alhaurín el Grande have said they felt ‘obliged’ to shut their shops in support of the Mayor last Tuesday.
The paper quotes a local resident saying that nearly all the locals have small plots of agricultural land which they want to build on. 🙄
At least it looks like Snr. Serón is maintaining ‘local traditions’ ….
