Hi Frobozz

have tried to find the cadastral page for Lanzarotte on the town hall website – but cant find the town hall website.

Would have made your job somewhat easier as you can check from there what you can and cant do

Apologies – it seems every town hall is not connected.

Vince

Hi Vince,

It’s here http://www.yaiza.org but it is woefully inadequate.
There is a much better one at http://www.tias.org only better to see how bad the Yaiza one is, but not much use as it is a different municipality!!!

Yaiza includes the tourist resort of Playa Blanca. A few years ago the smallest and quitest tourist destination on Lanzarote….but not anymore, oh no!
It has now stretched along the coast massively. Happy to say that the rules are still being obeyed – everything any colour you like as long as it is white; nothing residential over 2 storeys in height; lots of volcanic stone walls etc etc.
The Marina Rubicon development is superb – if not a little ahead of its time – see http://www.marinarubicon.com and has provided another haven for yachties and related stuff to complement Puerto Calero. See http://www.puertocalero.com
Lanzarote is currently having big bucks spent on it – 3.5 million euros just approved for Costa Teguise; nearly every single main road on the island being re-tarmaced in the last 24 months; electricity and water upgrades happening everywhere; new pavements throughout Puerto del Carmen – the list goes on.
For me, it is the best place on earth. That’s why I’ve lived here for 11 years.
Sure, we have our share of corrupt mayors (try a google on the current Mayor of Yaiza for more along the vozdelanzarote lines) and politicians trying their level best to get all the other politicians behind bars. Same as anywhere else really.
But paradise is not a place you find – it’s a place you make. If you were sitting where I am typing this overlooking the main beach road, 30 metres from the sea watching the world go by (whilst trying to make a living!!) you would see what I mean.
Don’t know why, but something popped into my head which should give lots of members a little perk-up
“With all its sham and drudgery and broken dreams
It is still a beautiful world.
Be careful.
Strive to be happy.”

Hows that to end the week?!
