People in Spain need not wake up as an average person in the street is well aware of what is going on for years on most issues.
The people who need to wake up are the ones whose job is to minimise the cirulation of brown enevelope, law enforcers . This includes politicians, mayors, lawyers and the civil service.
Last night on “Euronews” I heard that through out the eurozone, Spaniands have brought the highest number of complaints to the Obdusman.

I meant, Shakeel, from the point of view of actually doing something about it – in the form of demonstrations – as against just moaning about it in the local tapas bar.

Where do you want me to start. I am sure that you realise that the demonstration (when not direct) is just the way of the powers to be to allow citizens to let steam out and let them feel that that they are in a democracy and can express themselves as their democratic right. YES and than what ??????????????.
Keeping Spain in mind what is the difference now and when Franco was there. Yes they could not get out and protest as the boys in green would have had a field day (like the boys in blue and I have seen them first hand to be very vicious not the direct desendent of Dixon’s ) and now they can get out and protest. The result is the same.
Food for thought and some parallel !!!!!

For years now the Spaniards have watched swathes of their country become concreted over – they have had enough and are now publicly demonstrating. Good for them, I say – even if all it does is to shame the ‘powers that be’ into thinking it may be in their political interest to finally listen.
The timing is interesting remembering the elections?

Charlie, Politicians and shame !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. If one is honest and has ounce on morals/shame, one would certainly not be a politician.
Election only gives them a reason to play musical chairs. Only to return to power or in the mean time allow some one else to fill thier pockets.
Yes, I am old enough to be cyn………………..

That’s why I said “……it may be in their political interest to finally listen”.
I’m a cynic too. 😉
