I have often seen comments that the newspapers in Spain have given scant coverage of the numerous issues with construction in tourist areas. Any statistics seem favourable as to the state of sales/prices. I saw this on another forum discussing a statement on Friday that prices in Spain rose 4% last year.

The chairman of El Mundo is a partner in the biggest Real Estate agency in Spain. Another, Gonzalez mendez Pozo chair of most of North Western newspapers owns Construcciónes Rio Vena. He was once sentenced to 7 years for fraud but only served a fraction of his sentence due to powerful contacts. Wonder how many others in the media are also involed in property?
