Hi,
If you are only going to view properties in Spain there is no need for you to complete any forms with your personal details.
It is only once you have made an offer on a property and it has been accepted that you will need to apply for your NIE numbers. When you see your solicitor you then make the decision to give power of attorney eg.if you were not going to be in Spain for completion. You would also need to decide if he has the power to buy only or to buy and sell. Before you buy it can be a good decision to see a financial adviser to find out exactly what your budget is. – Happy house hunting 😉

What sort of “financial Advisor” do you mean? one of the dozens of unregulated ones on the CDS some who are due in court in May for “losing” the savings of around 700 ex-pats and still are allowed to be in business and advertise!

Hi Katy,
I was only refering to Financial Adviser in order to work out a budget and to get some figures on bank mortgages etc. in order to go house hunting. I was neither saying one way or the other that Silver Fox should use one.
If this is his choice then obviously one needs to be careful (as always).

NIE number is required only If you are going to buy a property not If you’re just looking.
