Hi there,
We’re looking at a property with we may buy with a large amount of woodland around the house. Im wondering if its possible to cut down trees to landscape the area and maybe grow vegetables , build a swimming pool etc . What are the laws in spain and more particular Catalonia like ?
all info welcome
many thanks

Check with the local Town hall. Where I lived many of the trees such as pine trees were protected. A neighbour was fined thousands of euro for cutting down just 4 trees.

Regarding getting rid of trees it’s really simple. Just cut them down and leave no proof of who did and you are safe. Then apply for the stuff that they can actually go after you for before you build it. The only way to deal with a corrupt state is to behave as them.

So I asked an architect about cutting down trees around a building for landscaping etc and he said it was fine as long as you plan two for every one cut down, seems a fair practise !
