ParticipantThink ‘Pops’ has the right solution – see his comment at bottom of article, Tilly’s first link.
But will probably never happen, it’s too much like common-sense and fair justice. -

Did they need to wait till the crash started to put some more petrol on fire? Shame on the journalists!!!!!!!!!

ParticipantProbably knew about it, had property, and wanted to sell up quietly before they exposed the pending disaster.
Bit like the ex-mayor and his land in Turre. “I didn’t know anything about the proposed railway line, honest”…..he said, shrugging.

The first thing to remember is that the prime object of a newspaper is to make money, how does it mainly make its money, ADVERTISING.
In 2005-2006, large UK based agents were spending a fortune on adverts, booking hotels for exhibitions etc etc. No newspaper in its right mind would have turned this source of income down. Now there is very little advertising so they can publish and be dammed, knocking Spain,Uncle Tom Cobley and all.
It is the same for local newspapers and radio stations, they live by advertising, can remember some very shady outfits who are no longer with us who were highly recommended by the local media. It is the same with restaurante recommendations, I can only remember one restaurante being panned by any of the local media over the years, expect that was one that refused to advertise.
For newspapers read estate agents, they need to sell to stay in business so will make everything sound like Utopia. I worked for an agent and was appalled at the rubbish that I was expected to sell, I told the owner of the agency so he said”If you do n´t want to sell it there are plenty of people who will”, so I left.
We live in a celebrity world, money is the new god. The media is controlled by let us say people who would sell their birthright for a mess of potage. Believe very little of what one reads, sees or is told, most of it will be lies.
Most recommendations in the media such as hotels, restaurantes, property developments are given 1) To make money through advertising 2) The journalist has received a freebie.
As ever, Caveat Emptor.

Participanti agree this could have happened sooner, but thank heavens for reports like this. At long last it’s being recognised just how bad things are for some, and just where the blame lies.
there has always been several selfish a**eholes on this forum alone blaming the many innocent victims of these low life, for being victims! These reports leave little doubt on the cause of so much misery for many people. Let’s just hope justice will soon follow now the ball is rolling.
