My wife and I are travelling to Alicante this Friday with a view to looking at properties in the Murcia/Mar Menor area. We think we could get a better value on a property in this area rather than the CDS.

After our less than happy experiences in the Costa del Sol late last year we would be grateful if anyone could give us some advance pointers on Estate Agents and Lawyers in the area (who are good, who to avoid). We are quite attracted by the idea of Polaris World resale properties, but would like to hear your opinions before we commit to anything.

I’ll give you all an update of how we get on (if we’re succesful!) when we get back in 10 days time.

      Many thanks

      Mark,

Be sure to talk to Gordon Turnbull at Blue Med Properties, contact details here:

He will certainly be able to give you the low down on Polaris World.

It is important to visit as many comparable properties / projects as possible, so you can judge for yourself what is value and what is not. Try and have a look at Hacienda del Alamo whilst you are over.

I look forward to reading how you got on, and your impression of Murcia’s property market when you get back.

      Happy hunting.

Think hard, seek advice, use an independent lawyer, then think again, then question your lawyer. After that, think again.

And don’t commit to anything until you have returned home and discussed what the various agents have said and posted questions on this forum.
There are lots of properties available .
      Best of luck

In the short space of time I have been on this site, I picked up about this solicitor. Although I have not used him, it is my intention to do so once we have somewhere to buy in mind. All the many questions I have asked have been quickly, courteously and thoroughly replied to.

Let us know how you get on, we are going next month!!

Be interesting to report back on this forum after your trip. We are also flying friday to alicante and going to look at both properties in altea/calpe area and have a visit to one or more of the PW resorts.

My first impressions, and that’s only based on internet info, is that the so called “villa’s” from offplan PW are quite overpriced. Resales could be different, problem remains that some of the villa’s are smaller than my car. *somewhat joking here*. They do redefine the word small for a Villa.
