Holiday homes in Galicia: 70pc of new homes can’t find a buyer

An alarming 70pc of all newly-built holiday homes on the Galician coast are languishing on the market in search of a buyer, reports the Spanish press.

That means 20,000 newly-built holiday homes have yet to be sold, according to figures from the local association of real estate developers (Aproin).

The panorama of abandoned building sites in the A Mariña Lucense area and empty urbanisations covered in ‘For Sale’ signs in Sanxenxo are the most visible face of this disaster.
