Corruption and illegal building on the Costa Brava?
There is bound to be a bit of it, but it has not been systematic, and it is not really an issue. Nevertheless, one always has to carry out the property legal searches when buying anywhere in Spain, and be extra careful when buying within 500 meters of the sea, as you don’t want to fall foul of the ‘ley de costas’, or coastal law.
