Hi Angela

a very good one - Intasure. Have just come back from doign an interview with them. They offer policies in English (translated into Spanish for your bank) are generally cheaper than Spanish ones and cover much more. You can get cover immediately and the policy is sent immediately to your email inbox followed two days later by a hard copy.

They have an office in Oliva but cover all Spain (they have about 6 or 7 offices in various locations.) You can speak to them on the phone, drop them an email or call in.

Their customer service is excellent (I am a policy holder of theirs also by the way) and they appear to saettle claims quickly. They are backed by Norwich Union

If you drop me an email I will give you their contact detilas

Regards

Vince

This is probably a stupid question but here goes....do I need buildings as well as contents insurance for an apartment in Spain?
As I have only ever insured a house I am not "au fait" with this but will need insurance in December.
Advice gratefully accepted!

Hi,

Yes you do need insurance for house/apartment and contents. As I have been advised by Mark and Vince - Intrasure I found very good and I have got insured over the phone with them - I found a girl by the name of Theo very good and helpful - any questions you need answered don't be afraid to ask them.

Good luck with property.

Angela :D

With an apartment you only need content and 3rd party liability insurance. The community policy should cover the building.

Mark
