I have asked my agent for a bank guarentee as advised but the agent says that this is both costly and there is a lot of beurocracy regarding aquiring one. He states that I can be assured that things will be OK. Do I stilll pursue this?

Read through the previous posts on this site. In nooooo way should you proceed without BGs. They are a legal requirement!

Hi Chris – if you have a read back through all the previous postings about BG’s you will see it has been oft stated that a developer is required BY LAW to provide a BG and at NO COST to you. Tell your “agent” he’s taking out of his behind! Have you got yourself an independent lawyer yet?

    Hi,

Yes, yes and yes………its a right you have and a guarantee that your money is protected.

You really must tell him it is a legal requirement. It my region they are taking about 3 weeks to come through…….and there should be no cost to you, although they might try and get you to pay.

Demand it…or you have no protection
