The property prices shown for property on the website rightmove always seem way too high and this is when looking for property for sale anywhere in both Britain and in Spain. It seems that me that all the prices seem to me to be at least double what they should be which means that the realistic price for the properties should be half what is actually shown. The interesting thing is that this is the case for properties shown for both Britain and Spain. In other words, a price shown for a particular property in Spain should in reality be worth half as much as the asking price being shown.

For instance, a typical three bedroom house for sale in Chippenham in England is shown to be valued at £140,000 (pounds sterling) when in actual fact the realistic figure is more like £70,000 (pounds sterling). Likewise a three property in Walthamstow in east London has the asking price of £240,000 (pounds) when in fact a figure of £120,000 is much more realistic. Even in a dump like Milton Keynes, a typical three bedroom house is for sale for £100,000 but in reality it is only really worth as much as £50,000.

I can also give numerous examples of Spanish properties on the rightmove website being advertised at a sale price which is easily double what is should be. In other words, the real sale price for the spanish properties shown on the rightmove website are half the price being asked for.

With properties in the South East of England selling within 4 weeks I doubt sellers will be motivated to reduce 😆 😆

So you are saying you think properties are double what they should be?

We are now entering a period of house price falls even in London – which is a good thing in the long run as it will enable the economy to recover.

London home sellers cut prices by a record for the month of July as an increase in supply added to pressure on the property market during the traditional summer lull, Rightmove Plc (RMV) said.

Any price corrections are not bad for house buyers, however the big difference between Spain and the UK is there is a massive oversupply of property in Spain, but a real under supply in the UK which ultimately means prices remain more stable in the latter instance 😉

I was being sarcastic, not sure if that was picked up lol.

      OP:

250 words to say you ‘Think property is double what it should be”

I mean was it really necessary to explain “In other words, you should pay half” really? That is what double means?

Or “if a property is 100k you should pay 50k” really? 50k is half of 100k?

I havent LOL’d over a forum thread so much in years.

You dont feel you should add any facts to back this up?

I mean i feel my local bus is double what I think it should be, I think i should pay half of the actual price, that is i think i should pay 1.50 not 3.00. For no other reason than my personal opinion. Understand? In fact all buses are twice what they should be, countrywide, because this one bus i feel is double what it should be, that is all buses should be half the price, that is 50% of what it is now. So half of a whole or 2 quarters of if you still don’t understand half… maybe 2.5 fifths of a whole would help?

      Wow.

not sure what the point of this thread is.
If you feel that rightmove only shows inflated prices, then don’t use it.

It’s rubbish anyway, Rightmoveis regarded as the bible for property on sale in the UK. Almost exclusively used by all estate agents and the prices are the same as in the agents windows.
