Just a quick question: – what’s the situation regarding the apparent shoals of jellyfish (UK media) off the Spanish coasts, particularly around the Marbella area?
Going on my hols there in a few weeks time so probably won’t have any effect by then.
Just curious really ‘cos this came up before we went to Calpe a couple of years back, again in the UK Media. Is it a silly-season filler?

Last year there were jellyfish in the sea in Nerja…both of us were stung! Two weeks ago my son and his partner went to Burriana beach at Nerja and there were LOADS of the them!!!!
I looked at the link posted by Jackie and they(jellyfish) are the same type that we saw. They are almost transparent and difficult to see. Nasty. The stings that I had itched for weeks too.
So you’ve been ‘stung’ by more than just one way on the CDS 😉
They are mainly around Nerja, Almuñecar area. I was in the sea 2 days ago (marbella) and didn’t see any. They say the main reason for the plague is overfishing.
Thanks everyone for all the replies regarding the jellyfish.
I just want to say that I hope that none of you are suffering problems because of the security clampdowns at airports.
I know of people who were supposed to fly out yesterday morning to Lanzarote and they’re still at Gatwick now!
Take care,
