oops, ours owe rather a lot (and i’m really not surprised….). Each person owes 753 euros with over 10 million debt with only 13,000 habitants!

I was discussing this with my Spanish husband last night.

Wouldn’t it be far better to have just a representative for each region rather than all these Mayors?

For our area there are Mayors in every town, even some with 1000 people, then add all their expensive hangers on…..

Why couldn’t say Almeria have a Mayor who then goes to Madrid to represent the area to the main boss up in Madrid? Then another Mayor for Murcia, Valencia, blah blah. It would save millions in wages…. One person and a small council of people to do the paperwork etc.

Isn’t the main problem with Spain that their arses don’t know what their elbows are doing….. one hands over the paperwork and the other denies it. A Mayor in a small town then has to go to the boss in say Almeria who is then overpowered by the President of Andalucia, who then argues with the President of the country…. all that arguing and nothing gets done?

This would remove so many middle-men and get back to a central Gov. power actually running the country?
