I looked at buying there quite seriously last year before settling on Lanzarote so I have some knowledge. What sort of property and what sort of surroundings are you looking for? What do you want feedback on? If you have got some specific questions, I may be able to help

Careful with Fuerteventura. They’re building like maniacs, and pushy, aggressive agents stalk the land. John made a sensible choice with Lanzarote, where development is much better controlled.

Hi thanks for reply i have already bought in Fuerterventura a complex called Antigua Bay should have been ready oct 2005 nearly there just waiting for paper work, though the promoter is asking to sign when site is still on builders powerwhich worrys me. We have followed this site and done just about everything recommended on hear. Though we have a contract which says we can claim compensation and a lawyer who also says we can not sure if we would get any where. i agree with John and you Mark they are building like mad and some of the work is not too good and there are problems with the finish. Hopefully ours will be ok , you can see they have cut corners on finish on ours but it looks pretty good. Keep up the good work. Cheers 🙂

smurf – if your place is on builders power it is probably because the developer can’t get the licence of first occupation.
Without this you can not get connected to water, electricity – be careful, recommend you do not complete until the developer gets the LFO – you could be left with the keys but unable to live in it due to no utilities.
Don’t believe ‘promises’ of ‘it is coming’. Don’t complete and pay your money until the developer provides it.
By law you are not obliged to pay until the LFO is in place.

thanks Sofia more good advice. i will not be signing untill everything is done though i was surprised they dont like you checking your property untill you have signed. We have bought as a package fully fitted so hope to count the knives & forks first. Any veiws on pursuing claims for late completion success rates good or bad 😀
