I think Katy is saying…..
“YOU’RE HAVING A LAUGH, AREN’T YOU ” !???!!!
If there was such a governing body, where one could file a formal complaint (if that is what you are after), there would be a queue from Marbella stacking back to Madrid!
There is, however, one for lawyers – the Collegio de Abogados, but don’t hold your breath for any action.
However, sometimes just the threat to report a law firm to the Collegio can make them jump into action a bit.
Our original lawyer (inbedded with the developer) was refusing to hand back our file to give our new lawyer unless we paid her 500 euros for a 2 hour meeting we had with her, which was to sort out the mess she had got us into in the first place. (We had to fly over for the meeting because she was ignoring our telephone calls and e-mails. So we turned up on her doorstep).
After the meeting, we had the ‘to-do’ about she wanting the 500 euros, and us wanting our file. Stalemate. Until we threatened her with the Collegio. She immediately handed us the file, muttered something about suing us for the money…… and we have heard nothing more. 😉
