Just thought I’d add a bit more about our home
OUR PROPERTY IN INLAND COSTA DEL SOL ANDALUCIA SPAIN
Looking for a Dream Home in Inland Costa Del Sol, Andalucia, Spain
We have just put the price of our home down to 200,000 euro
Three Bedroom finca set in 25,000m2 of fenced land 1km from the main Malaga to Ronda road though you would not think so
In Andalusia nestled in a valley midway between Yunquera and El Burgo lays our home, on entering the valley you encounter a rough road which is made good each year by the National Park. Drive along a little way and you enter the valley proper
There are 20 plus property’s here and it is so beautiful, peaceful with fantastic views, a place to die for as they say, only three homes are occupied full time the rest are weekend homes for people who live and work in Malaga and Ronda
Low and behold Thursday 12th February 2009 the electric people have arrived to start installing the high tension power so that at last we will have real electricity, wow thought we would have moved before it arrived
At the moment we use a generator for electricity, we have our own legal well and get good sweet drinking water. There are three good size bedrooms, a large bathroom, living room and kitchen with breakfast bar, every window looks out onto fantastic views
Plus our home is a legal build and we have the papers to prove it
The property sits in 25,000m2 of fenced land it is in 2 plots one with the house on and the other has a footprint for a house, we have olive, lemon, orange, fig, almond trees.
The land includes 5,000m2 of pine forest which is part of the National Park with pine and cork trees, wild rosemary, lavender, sage and lots of rare wild plants plus wild mushrooms, many of the plants I’m still trying to find out the names of.
There is also plenty of wood for winter fires, the National Park forest workers cut the trees and leave some for the locals to collect plus there are always thousands of cones to collect which are great for starting you fire and helping to keep it burning if the wood gets a bit damp.
We have set aside land for a swimming pool and greenhouses, leaving plenty of land over for growing other crops, and keeping animals
Keeping 34 chickens keeps us in eggs with some left over which we sell to the locals in the village of El Burgo.
Two years ago we planted a fruit orchard of quince, pomegranate, peach, plum, apricot we also have an allotment for growing our own vegetables.
Our home is an ideal size for a small holding and we are ideally placed for rural tourism both can be grant eligible, The Spanish Government are looking to give help to bring tourist and jobs to Spain.
At the moment the Almond trees are in full blossom, the olives are just coming into flower and the most of the fruit trees are in bud. Each day as we take the dogs for their walk you can see the land changing wild flowers and herbs are popping all over the place all tell tale signs that we are well into Spring and that we can start to look forward to a nice long warm summer
